Wow were there a lot of tracks.  We saw a TAY regular in the parking lot and likely there were others about.  My son Sam's second backcountry trip and he requited himself very well. It was actually windy and cold up top so we did not stay long and dropped in around 1 PM.  The top 1000' was icy and tough where there were old tracks.  The next 1500' or so was excellent, and then it got grabby and soft. Still a beautiful day in the mountains.  It was skiable about a mile below Glacier Basin.  Gotta love the fantastic new trail.  A few photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/94756057@N06/
Great job. It's gotta be nice getting you boy up there.

Great Day.

Must of been passing.

see any tracks or skiers on the Emmons/Winthrop up high?  Just wondering if anyone braved the weekend's windy forecast and got in a ski off the top.

Saw some ski tracks above Camp Sherman, but not sure which they went.

Nice to meet you and your son.....good work Sam.
We only went to the Ruth Col ( I was bonking) and skied down before you.....it was pretty good.
Nice cool wind for skinning.

I ran in to a couple at Muir who had gone to the crater rim on DC.  Let's just say their report on conditions made me glad that I decided to work on a car Saturday ;)

There were a ton of tracks on the Emmons.
