- similar to the South Sisters rpt a couple wks ago. You can boot, skin, glissade down - whatever.
boot penetration was a couple inches. a smooth surface, almost all over. The Park Service has not resumed this season's trail work due to the snowpack, allowing access. A sidenote, a bicycle-tourer was enjoying the sights, from Seattle.

Stoked to see this report; grew up skiing on Lassen when there was still lift operations.
I skied Lassen today (June 2). I was lucky enough to be up there with some non-skiers who joined me in ascending the southeast ridge (2000' up) and then returned that way and provided a car shuttle as I descended the northeast face to the desolated area parking lot (4000' down). I found a snow tongue that got me down to 7100'.
I also skied Lassen Saturday. We hiked from Emigrant Pass, and it was probably 1.5 miles of walking before we hit skiable snow. We skied the main bowl down toward the Devastated area. If I did it again, would probably ski the north/northwest aspect of the north ridge-- looks like 3000+ vf of steep smooth snow there.
Also snow nearby Reading peak looked great.
Lower part of Devastated area was really suncupped.
