Had a less than alpine start with Steve and left Mill Creek @ 9:15am
Drove to within 1/4 mile of trail head (lower clearance got within 1/2 mile).
Took trail up to 1st bench then slipped and slid up steeper slopes to the secondary bench, then continued up to the saddle.

Pondered continuing up to the top from there since we were soaked, but booted up the shorter steep section and then skinned up the ridge from there. Snow was like snot almost everywhere - bad for skinning but good for skiing. Wanted to ski Gunsight, but low vis changed our decision so we skied down the way we came up down to the parking lot. Continuous snow all the way.
Nice! What would you estimate is the elevation when the snow starts out in them parts?

Snow starts right at the trailhead (3200'?)
A few bare patches on the trail, but continuous snow from about 200 yards up the trail.
We only bootpacked a few sections that were steep and slippery snot such stuff
