"Drove to Cali to find some sun.  East side of Shasta had the best snow according to the nice folks at Fifth Season ski shop in the town of Mt Shasta. They even have a snow phone!  Call them for the latest conditions and buy your trail pass there also.

Forest Service road clear until about 2 miles before Brewer's Creek trailhead.  Only about .5 miles overland walking until continuous (enough) snow.  The snow froze overnight but by 10:30am when the fog shrouded the peak (and I turned around) the ski down was a nice inch or so of corn on edge-able firmer stuff. Gorgeous full moon and beautiful sunny morning but at about 12k, with the fog, the icy memories, we chose prudence over valor :-)

But I bought an annual climbing pass so PM me if you are going there soon or have a conditions update.  Thanks! Lin"
