Set off with aspirations of riding Mt Howard. I was with a new touring partner so I knew that might be a stretch. On the Rock Mtn trail by 7 to enjoy 2 hours of boot-packing. Around 4,500 ft there was good coverage to skin.
The short run from Nason ridge to Rock Lake was excellent and I was fired up to head towards Howard. It was then I found out my touring partner was still up on the ridge and would not come down!
Skinned back up to the ridge and convinced her to head up to Rock Mountain with me. We stopped a bit short of the summit ridge. I just wasnt sure how she would do coming down. This time I gave her some more encouragement and she did really well. Snow was smooth and not too mushy until the last few hundred feet or so before boot-packing time.

Ha! Got me! I've had Anna stop and turn around, and require some MAJOR encouraging (read shouting, swearing, threatening). Looks like she had a great time, all in all, though.
