Beautiful day and a nice tour, but I can't suggest it as a skiing location anymore. We had to boot the first ~1000 vert up the Silverstar creek trail, then found pine needles and sticky firm snow in the basin. Upper mountain was bottomless sticky mush, easy pole penetration down the the handle and beyond. Stability fine since there was no bottom to slide on. Skiing was mostly backseat and pointing them straight in order to go anywhere with reasonable speed. Oh well, can't beat the views! 5 hours up, 2.75 hours down, nice long break up top.

Haha, the photo of the guy half embedded in the mush says it all, eh? :)
