Got a slightly late start out of camp, helps to put your phone in your tent if you set an alarm on it. Started out for blue lake on firm snow, grip was good off skin track though. Decided to try my new petzl vasak crampons out on the steeper icy section, worked great on the salomon malamutes. Went back to touring after it turned into a crust over the dry pow. Was hoping to get a shout at sw couloir of early winter spires, saw nasty ice balls and everything on that aspect was rock solid, another day.
Got up to the cornice and talked to a group doing the birthday tour, cops don't wear pbr trucker hats guys :p Their turns looked like pretty darn good corn.
Mike really wanted to press on for a line on Stiletto, but Jen had a nasty blister forming on her arch. She was done. Time to ditch the Lange race boots for touring.
Decided to just ride back from there and head west. Top turns under cornice were great pow like we found Monday. Went west from there, rest of the way was a crust, but very edgeable and actually pretty fun. Looks like corn is forming on west aspects nicely.
With our riding cut short we went back to camp and I spent some quality time in a hammock
