Took Friday off to enjoy the beauty of the Rock, Howard, Mastiff traverse.  Pretty rotten post holing type snow up the summer trail on Rock till about 4800 or so from where we skinned.  The snow conditions where a mix of wind affected, powder/pressed on N facing and Corn on S facing, and slurpee when we got down to the Merritt Lake trail access road.  Will be less skiing and more booting lower down on this exit soon.  Scared up a big animal up there - cougar ?

Real happy to do this traverse with some stellar young men.  Miles, a med student to be, took up skiing this year, and skied 100 laps in the recent 24 hour ski at Stevens !  Jonah, a recent transplant to L-Town, part time EMT, and a former solo round the world sailor !  I am so fortunate to call these folks my friends.
Was a couple hours behind you guys.  I opted for perfect corn down the west face after seeing how not powder the north face of rock looked.
