Strictly speaking here south facing
Firm snow for skinning up Mazama and up under McClure rock (7200 high point ).Very little ski penetration and only ankle deep on boots. Dramatic change around noon as proto corn morphed into real mush and skiing turned sloppy with boot top deep boot penetration. Mostly cloudy with lots of radiation. Get your work done early and enjoy lunch later .
Thanks, Robman.

Redux today, except I left home at 7:30 (returned at 12:30) for an early morning ski from Paradise to 4th xing and thence up to McClure (went to the base of McClure at ca 7,200 ft asl).  So firm on the way up I didn't even leave tracks except when using ski crampons.  Nice corn on the steep slopes facing south and east and firm crust on the flats on the way down.  Didn't see another person till the front of Mazama, but the parking lot was full when i got to my car.
