Friday, March 22, 2013: Broke trail solo from 4500f ft to about 5200 ft before I linked up with someone else's skin track. On and off again, sun and cold shade made some heavy skinning. Took a few E/NE laps from 5500 ft to 5000 ft in beautiful shin deep cold powder over a spongy base.

Saturday, March 23, 2013: My wife and I had an amazing day lapping some easily accessed side country. N/NE trees and open bowls, 5000 ft to 4500 ft. Started to warm up later in the day, with lots of point releases and slow wet slides visible. The trees stayed cool and good into the evening.

Sunday, March 24, 2013: Spent the day solo again, lapping and exploring the same area from Saturday. N/NE was still good. E/SE aspects were still fun, but lots of snow variation, caused by sun and wind. Windy and cloudy later later in the day. All in all another great day out!

Love that first photo.  Friday was maybe the best snow I've had the privilege of skiing on Mt. Hood.

I think your Sunday destination would have been a great Friday choice but it was hard to go wrong anywhere on Friday :)  Thanks for the post.
