Skied the Slot and Crooked yesterday with Phil. Left the Alpental lot at 8:30am, found sun crusted snow in the open areas and light powder in the trees on southern aspects as reported by others. Checked out the exit gulley on the way up and didn't look like anyone had come out of Thunder Creek Basin recently. We cut a decent size cornice loose with no propagation or signs of wind slab. Continued up to the Slot and to our surprise no on had skied it. Truly amazing conditions, super light and fast cold smoke, stable with minimal sluffing. Broke trail out and caught back up with our skin track at the col, made our way to the top of the Crooked and descended at 12:30. We were the second group in, but still had great turns. Back to the truck by a little after 2, all in all an unforgettable day.

almost changed out tour plans on Saturday when we skinned by the slot and saw no one had hopped in it yet...we figured someone would be along shortly and get some tracks in it. Looks like y'all had a good time.

Mike, Thanks for the ride back to Alpental after our 3 peak traverse. We were considering skiing the slot and probably should have adjusted our plans but we still got a few good turns. Great video BTW!
