Had a great day on Union Peak. Left the HW with ~10 skiers ahead, but didn't see a soul all day once we left the Smith Brook road. About 2' of consolidated new snow from the last week.  Trail breaking was a bit slow, also snow started sticking to skins in a transition zone higher up. We opted to ski NW off the summit remembering John Morrows report a few years ago.  The steepish slope had some cliff bands to navigate, but was straight forward and the powder skiing was super fun through open forest.  Due to time constraint, we  skinned back up to the Union-Jove saddle, just skied down into the South basin.  Here the snow had some sun crust, and was a little more challenging.  I suspect the S slope off Jove has similar crust.  Nice tour, superb skiing, fun friends. Chris and Radka were going back Sunday to recycle our trail and check out Jove summit.
