Have a non-skiing friend flying in to visit this weekend, but I managed to get Friday off work to sneak in a tour, and convinced Yanna and Peter to join me. There was one skier out ahead of us - thanks for the uptrack, which we mostly followed first up to the upper portion of the old ski area, then over to the Ass where we did some tree laps.
We stuck to the north side of the ridge. The snow seemed pretty stable - just some surface sloughing. The skiing in the trees was a bit better than the deeeeep stuff in the open. It was deep enough in the woods!
After some fun over there, we headed back toward the west nubbin of the ridge and found some nice open lines down back to the car - though a bit more wallowy than the trees, it was still quite fun!
The snow was getting a little moist and heavy at the bottom.
I'm glad I was able to clear my schedule for the day...
