Found lots of new snow in a "sandwich" profile:  On top of the old snow was about 24 inches of storm snow from the past 48 hours.  We found about a foot of low density snow above the old, 6" of high density snow in the middle of the sandwich, and up to 6" low density new on top.
Skinning up we wondered how it would ski but the skinning was super easy on that high density layer.
We paralleled Silver Fir slopes up to Grand junction and the Nordic pass trail to traverse over to the base of the steeper climb.  We met a nice couple who came in from Hyak and finished the skin track to the top.
First run down fall line right to the cliffs.  An entrance into a gully separating the rocks had already slid so we felt safe hitting this steeper short line.
Back up our skin track to a line just east of the summit and down skiers left in the natural wide trough.
Snow skied awesome!  Super light and very fast staying high in floatation on the higher density snow.
