Another weekend of high pressure meant once again we were looking to go high. Arrived Sat morning to a surprise 3cm at the info center that grew to 10cm in the alpine. The sun made for a bit of sluffing on the way up the south face of video peak. A quick bit of mountain goating got us to the north face of Video Peak. Phenomenal snow led to bruins glacier. Broke trail to Bruins Pass where someone else had kindly placed a skin track to the top of 8812. Skied the north face and down 8812 bowl which had a bit of a crust at the bottom.
The next day we left Loop Brook headed for Mt. Green. Skipped the now likely terrible skin track up to the Bonney Moraines and skinned up the exit track instead. Easy travel to the col except for a small rocky headwall section just below the col. An amazing 1600m decent of boot to shin top powder led to the illecillewaet river. The skin out was scenic in the fading light but slowly became a slog as time ticked on.
Monday was a rest day due to a large blister taking up residence on my heel. Headed up to Pearly Rock and bathed in the afternoon sun at the top for a while. Once again it was a great descent with some large pillows to end the long weekend.
