Conditions report.
There is nothing really worth skiing here..... OK, maybe something!  But we found 6" to 10" recycled powder on the older rain crust.  The new snow was thoroughly uncohesive and not conducive to forming slabs.  The rain crust appeared to be decomposing but supportive.  Unlike yesterday at Snoqualmie, we could reach the crust on turns, but it was easily carvable.  I guess this was either due to being east of the crest, or perhaps Snoqualmie Pass had a bit of a convergence in the last storm cycle.  Serious winds have hit exposed slopes NW through NE and caused for a bit of variable skiing: in these cases the wind slab formed self anchored sheets of styrofoam.  But who can complain when the majesty of our spectacular mountains open up before our eyes with every forward step in the skin track!  Especially in the company of cherished friends.
