Thanks to all who posted recent conditions reports, it helped us narrow down an objective today.  Sounded like skiing under trees would be scratchy, north slopes might have tricky snow, and open slopes would be best.  Despite the long, nearly flat approach on the XC trails and foggy weather, the day turned out great with the NE facing lines off the upper basin providing 12" of soft, consistent old powder.  Eleven people doing multiple laps pretty well used up the obvious lines.  We did not go to the NW ridge crest, thinking there might be wind affected snow, since there was some breeze.

I had the feeling on friday that things were pretty stable up there but I didn't have a platoon size group to prove it  ;)

Very nice meeting everybody today. Great to ski with a strong experienced group. If anyone wants to ski/stay in touch you're welcome to facebook me. I'll take you on some ridgelines at Le Grande Blewitt! If it snows again...
I may try some more groomed high country over on Nason Ridge by Lake Wenatchee tomorrow - it should be a beauty. I need the exercise to keep up with the likes of the group I was with today...

Groomed access to High Country is sure a treat!

Thanks everyone for the fun B-Day ski  :)

Wow! It was your birthday and you gave me a present! I will repay! I have options...

Thanks for letting me tag along.  I learned a lot of new routes.  Oh and I got to meet Silas and he was even more awesome then I had heard.  I was expecting icey conditions, wow did I have a smile on my face!  ;D
