Sunshine! Instead of exploring the backcountry of 49 degs North (save it for storm days) we ran up a powerline off of Highway 3 in B.C. that had gone unskied by us for a few years. Stupid is as stupid does (Gump points) From the skin track a few miles away we picked a tree triangle on the south end of Wolf Ridge that looked like it might still hold some soft snow; outgoing riders told us the summit ridge to the north was blown out from consistent high winds. The important thing was to skin in the sun for the first time in 7 weeks. Mission accomplished, however we skied inside the shadow line down the ridge. Saw much to return to as soon as possible. From the summit ridge the sunny alpine tried to pry us of our objective in the north facing shadow, but we stuck with the plan. There is a lot of great terrain to get back to there, not far off the road.
