Great skiing on McLoughlin today.  The snow is really starting to consolidate - should be full on corn in another day or two.  Some rain ice showing through near the summit, but that was it for hard snow.  The snow was good enough to lap the upper slopes once before a reasonably easy skinless coast back to the car.

First view of the summit:

NE Gullies.  All the North facing snow appeared pretty wind affected.  Made staying in the sun an easy decision.

North couloirs looked to have the most rain ice of any aspect.  Will have to come back for these:

Buttery turns lower down:

Who's in for Shasta this weekend?  :)
Looks pretty sweet down there!  Do you just skin directly from the highway during the Winter?

I'm about ready to bust out my Hawaiian shirts in January in the Cascades. Life can be confusing.

Yup, right from the highway. It's not a bad approach through the forest. Maybe two miles.
