Zap - 'Stroke of Misfortune' Video was created by Zap
Hi All,
Thinking of you during this first week of the New Year, and wanted to share this with you.
Annette Frahm, a friend of ours, put together a video about aging athletes and how they adjust to aging and/or injury and disease. This was done as a project for a Master's program in Digital Media. She asked if Zap would be willing to be the focus of her video, and called it a "Stroke of Misfortune". The beautiful skier in the video is of course Zap, but the skier who fell is not Zap.
On November 28, 2012, Zap had a seizure which was caused by the stroke (very unexpected, but not uncommon). He’s on his second anti-seizure medication and was feeling good for the first two weeks, but is now having a reaction to it also. Darn! Hopefully we’ll be able to work this out with his doc on Monday. We’ve been told that figuring out anti-seizure medications can be a process, and that it’s proving to be!
During the past couple of weeks we’ve skied 10 days, and Zap’s skiing is getting better as he's getting stronger. We’re hoping to get out back-country skiing sometime this next week; had planned on going out Friday, but there was freezing rain. And rule #1 is that we don’t ski in the rain! We’ll include some pictures as soon as we have them.
Here's the link to the video which is live on Vimeo: vimeo.com/56121608.
Thank you, Annette, for putting together such a great video. It means a lot to us.

Nice! Thank you for sharing this, definitely some beautiful turns in there.
And who would have guessed that Zap's first name is David. I won't even try to spell or pronounce your last name; Zap works fine for me.
Keep at it!
