My cousin Paul and I left the TH at 11:30 after I abandoned my parking spot near the Mountaineers Lodge. There were snowshoers in the skin track; no worries in a quickie tour spot like this, right?
Over the last two days there was a total of 6-8" new, but a firm under-surface made a lot of it ski at least a foot deep, and some parts were bottomless. We stayed a bit too long skiing the Magic Trees and were rewarded with some steep, tight-spot traversing back right to the uptrack. Tree wells seem to be firming up a lot after the clear spell and temperature variations.
