January 3, 2013, Summit East

I dropped my brother off at the airport and drove somewhat directly to Hyak, after I got a rare "I'm too beat" from the ever-energetic Silas.  Beautiful  clear skies and howling east winds!  I went up Hyak face, down the lift line into Hidden Valley for a break sitting on the chairlift, and back up.  Micro-stash tip:  1-2" of blown-in fresh in the lee of groomed runs and in beween bumps on the highway side.  Hopefully all buried soon.   
The foothills looked dry on the way down, so I hiked up to the trestle at Exit 38 with only a bit of snow and soloed a few pitches on Write-Off Rock for a drop-the-knee-and-rockclimb combo.
