Dec 31, 2012, Inaugural Silver Skimo Poker Run

Brandon, Lowell, Jan, Dave, and I closed out the year with a friendly skimo competition.  The course was the base of the Silver Fir chair to Silver Peak (actually the high ridge just below the peak) and back.  We took the Nordic Trails (White Rabbit to Grand Junction to Ripsaw) to Windy Acres, then up the basin toward the Peak.  Travel was fast.  The Nordic Trails were freshly groomed.  Trail breaking off the groomed trails was relatively easy (for Brandon).  There had been a party that set a skin track within the previous couple days.  Just some wind blown snow to deal with.  Brandon, Lowell, Jan, and I all finished within seconds of each other.  The fastest time was 1 hour 44mins.  Good times.
