JPH, Splitter and I set out for a quickie tour up the Snoqualmie Mountain and down the Slot (and back) in early hours of Saturday. Had fun skinning up on the front side of the mountain under cloudy skies and snowshowers; a big thank you to someone who put the skin track all the way to the top - you guys are steep skintrack specialists!
Slot was untracked and after tossing down some snowballs we concluded that conditions are "stable" and dropped in. Skiing in a deep powder was fabulous and way too soon we were facing the return trek in a vertigo-inducing whiteout. JPH chose a sporty variant to reach the mountain ridge NW of the normal "notch" route at which point the quickie tour became not so quick anymore.
Ski down was uneventful and fun except for some GPS shenanigans, and soon enough brought us back to the cars happy with another great day of snowplay.

Awesome day with some fun (even if unintentional) exploration of a different corner of the mountain. It was so good that it didn't even matter that I was on my summer skis due to a Dynafit Radical blowout the week before.
