Dec 29th Mt Hood White River
« on: 12/29/12, 07:18 PM »

White River was a museum of sastrugi sculptures. Everything was wind effected.  This face looked good but didn't ski that well.  I had low expectations so wasn't disappointed.

Anything above or near alpine is hammered as are the open faces east of Hood ( Barlow, Bennet). Low sun protected trees seemed best.

We skied from Crater Rock on Sunday, 12/30 and it was amazing, probably the best powder skiing I've had above Timberline.
