Phillip and I skied the Tatoosh on sat 12/29/12. gate opened at 845 or perhaps sooner.
Nice sunshine/broken clouds till 2pm
Tomorrow Don't bother with south facing/and unshaded west facing because of light suncrust.
North facing was the  best and  holding powder. 1/2" hoar frost in the open.
We skinned up a untracked Castle saddle ,skied down south slopes into a  fog and suncrust after the first rollover. Skinned up to The top of Sunbeam drainage and had a most wonderful ski down the east shoulder in cold powder with a little sluffing. Skinned the road back up and over to north west  facing Mazama-skied  down more cold powder than exited back to the car down Narada slope in cold powder. A great day and snowing as we left. Coverage was over the top . We thought about throwing in Foss peak but were afraid it was suncrusted.
Snowing pretty heavy all the way down to Kautz creek as we exited at 230.
Had it all to ourselves unless others were behind us?

Spent yesterday, 12-30-12, skiing all around Sunbeam basin.  It was very good.  One of those rare days in which the four key variables came together for me: day off, great visibility, solid stability and superb snow.

Nice!  thanks for the pics
