Skiied west aspect open slopes from 5200 to 4200 in very nice powder conditions. Some sluffing of top inches on steeper slopes. Skiied west southwest aspect old growth from 4900 to 3200 -- also in very good powder conditions, though not quite enough snow yet to bury all the smaller trees interspersed between the ancient trees. Some snow bomb cratering in the old growth, but not enough to reduce enjoyment and I observed no snow bombs falling during today's tour.
Good clean fun. You missed a series of impressive tree bombs falling on the second uptrack. Giant-crater-making bombs. Fortunately none of us were hit. Yes, 3-4 feet more will make a real difference to the lower forest.
