Made my first trek to the Coquihalla this weekend. Snow hadn't stacked up quite as early as it has in previous years. The last few storms have quickly built a 200cm base.
Lots of people out and about. Stability was good but southern facing slopes were sporting a pretty good sun crust. I had looked at skiing the North Bowl between Yak and Thar a few times last year but never quite got around to it.
I love the adventure and route finding of new ski routes especially when they are holding some great snow!
This line is awesome though not one you would want to ski if you are even questioning stablity. Lots of narrow chokes and chutes.
Pics were hard to come by with the really flat light but it was worth the 3.5 km slog out.
