Specific location is West slopes of Silver Peak approached by Annette Lake trail. A shortcut along Humpback creek needs a few feet more, at least the bottom half. Our goal to get the upper slopes was cut short by gusty wind blowing over the ridge. It was so intense and forming wind slabs super fast. In fact, after getting up 50' near some trees, we triggered a local 10' wide 20" windslab, which then stepped down to the rain crust knocking out the 50' wide slope we had just skinned up. We quickly turned around got off the main slopes.
Went back to protected slopes along the trail, and had great runs. About a foot new on denser base made skiing super fun. Skied out the trail slowly with skins, then walked out the last half mile. It'll be more fun when we get a lot more snow there, except you'd be parking a little further.
