Headed up to BC for some great early season skiing.

Day one was basically driving and skinning up to the hut. The hut was very popular, 15 or so people each night on a weekday! But we couldnt all have tracked out the available terrain if we had tried. So much to do in this area.

Day two was overcast but we got some great tree runs and super fun lines in incredible snow off of vantage ridge

Day three we woke up and it was beautiful with stable snow and blue skies we headed up to the col above the anniversary glacier. Decided to make a go at Mt Matier. The bootpack was slow going and I was definitely regretting leaving the ice axe in the car. eventually we were thankful to be relieved of setting the final stretch of bootpack. The reward, an unreal airy and exposed summit ridge and the 40 degree open pitch off the NW face of Mt Matier.

an incredible run down the anniversary glacier brought us back to the hut.  the final stretch to the lot was completed by headlamp. An incredible trip that only makes me want to go back.

Aussie Couloirs lookin good! Nice pics.
