the base for Tahoe and south, ranges from 0 - 6 ft. Above 8,000 ft everything is filled in. the series of storms dialed everything in for the season. in contrast, down at lake level, 6,300 ft there is zilch.
the off piste at the resorts is a firm type of snow/rain mix at some spots and windpacked winter snow on typical NE aspects. at elev., 10,000 it even has a rain looking surface - rare for here. but, that's why it's filled in so well. the Fifth Season as Shasta is reporting excellent coverage also.
manana, I' ll be on an east aspect, 9,000 ft (corn). I don't mind.
