Early arrival and deep heavy snow made for some hard work up the ridge. We were aided for a while by a snowmobile that passed us early on. A game of leap frog ensued as the machine would get stuck, we would pass, they would get unstuck and pass us, ect. Eventually they turned back, leaving a tough slog.

As for the runs, the trick seemed to be finding something steep enough to ride but not so steep to have stability issues (or at the very least a hard trail breaking skin back out). We settled for some laps around Moonlight bowl. Turns were pretty good if you stayed in the fall line. Coverage was no problem.
How did you exit Moonlight via the bottom on to the Pacific Crest Trail or out the top ? If out the bottom how was the coverage. Looks much better that two weeks ago.

My naming is off - we were on the southwest slopes of the ridge. We avoided the southeast slopes (which I suppose is Moonlight bowl) to play it safe and keep it simple getting back out.

Later in the day, we did see a skin track from someone coming up the east slope of the ridge. No ski/snowboard track going down it.

No doubt, out the PCT would have no coverage issues now!.
