Dec 1 Mount Temple Ridge

Victor & I climbed to 7800 on Mount Temple Ridge via the Trauma Rib (Becky) and up the Pongo Col. It's on the left skyline & goes behind at the top.
The snow was well consolidated and nothing slid. There is a crust buried about 3-6 down and there is a very funky top layer of graupel-like sugar snow balls which starts at 7500 which seems like it wouldnt support the new snow.
We had crazed ideas about climbing Prusik Peak, but never quite got round to it. All the different sorts of weather took us along for the ride but it was great to be enchanted; there is really quite a lot of snow in the range.
Photographic onslaught coming soon!

Burly! Was this a Nairnes fueled trip?
Good for you and the Frenchman. I'm secretly hoping for a warm winter for a Climbs All Year.
An ascent of Prusik would have been fantastic!

Started in the rain and night falling, ended in the rain and night fallen. In between blue sky and powder :)

Awesome! Did you actually carry rock gear and then not use it? I'm such an ounce counter that would have hurt me.
ay, we did carry a rack & rope, and a pair of approach shoes, but the rime ice on the south side and the stinking weather the night before put a damper on our summit fever.
Should've eaten more oatcakes, those Scotsmen do make some kicking fuel!
