Drove up to the 9070 forrest road and got to ski while my gf recovered from working night shift the previous day. Her only stiuplation was taking the dog along.

Well, I made a thread a while back on a basset hound as a ski dog last year. Apparently, he does ok, just only on green type runs that are hard packed. He seemed to have a good time, we only went up maybe a mile or two before I turned around with him to avoid him getting in over his heads.

Road was still snowy with a patch of bare dirt. It did snow on me while I was out there.

And I can probably say I have the first basset ski dog for that road in WA state unless anyone else can rebute it.

On a side note, Summit West is still pretty bare in spots, another 6inches to 1ft should make it skiable in a lot of places.

I hiked up Granite as well yesterday and the top part of the mountain from about 4k+ is started to see solid snow, but still a lot of bare rocks and plants poking through. It's getting there guys! Soon soon soon!
I like your ski buddy !  ;)
