I decided to get my legs warmed up for Rogers Pass by skiing Kicking Horse Resort in Golden. This place ROCKS!!! It is layed out exactly how a ski resort should be...a comfortable sit-down gondola takes you to the top of a ridge. From here you can ski down glades, open bowls, an endless smooth groomers. But the best option is to hike in either direction along the ridge to access steep chutes and open bowls. If you don't mind short (or long) hikes to access untracked goodness, then you will love this mountain. Get there before it turns into Whistler!!!
