Hoping to connect with Amar and Juya on their way down this afternoon, we tennied up the Muir snowfield to 8800', crossed over to the Paradise, and then hiked up the rocks to 9300' to wait. We never saw them, but did celebrate Amar's 40th birthday with beers and cake, saving some for his consumption later.
The skiing was dirty and wavy. We crossed back west at 7700' and ended up with 1900' skiing for 3800' hiking. 50% joy o meter? We later heard from Amar that the paradise glacier skied better from 7700' to 6500'. https://vimeo.com/49024317
In the present conditions I'd suggest skiing Squak or zigzag at hood, which Tom Szwedko enjoyed the past few days. Squak is 2.5hr drive and 2hr walk to snow. Hood is 4hr drive and 15min walk to snow. http://www.telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=84025

Excellent video DOD. Way to rock the bare chest, Silas!
Nice work. I was up around NPWA and Rainier was looking pretty fantastic...I couldn't see the dirt from that far away. ;)
