Maybe a good outcome for low snow year. was created by Alan Brunelle
I know that when the complaints were beginning to come in about the low snow totals earlier in the year, someone commented on how the effect can mean better access to some prime sites normally not found in winter.

Maybe a unique thing about this year and possible increases in spring ppt. is that now that highway 20 is opened, it would seem likely that the DOT would want it to stay open. Given recent ppt., this may be a nice bonus for those who would like to get to these areas in nice conditions.

Only drawback would be that if substantial new snow does fall that higher than usual (and expected for those who normally frequent these areas in normal spring conditions) avalanche hazard might exist.

Highway 20 is closed again now. >:(
Hopefully they'll try re-opening it when the snow settles down...

Boy did I jinx that!

Now maybe it won't snow so much that they will quickly reopen the highway! ;) (Hoping for another jinx!)

Alan
