August, 4 Chain Peak Basin

New to the area and to BC skiing so last Saturday I headed up to the Alpental area to hike around and explore.  Ran into 2 nice fellas who are trying to ski for 12 months straight w/o leaving WA (sounds like a fun little challenge) and they let me tag along as they headed to Chair Peak. 

There also appeared to be a lot of snow in what I was told was Pineapple Gully. Off to the SSW of Chair

Hike the snow lake trail and then a climbers trail up some character building talus to a real nice snow field beneath Chair. Snow was sun cupped but soft. Really nice to ski, and easy to avoid the scattered rocks.  Ran a few laps and then was getting pretty fried from the heat so I headed out.
