August 2, 2012, Chair Peak Basin
« on: 08/02/12, 04:50 PM »

Not having the wherewithal to drive to a volcano, I took a chance and headed up to Chair Peak Basin based on a blurry pic taken from the summit of Guye Peak that showed snow. The surface was a bit more rubbly than I expected, but there was enough snow without embedded stones that a decent line could be found. Cups weren't too bad and the morning clouds and cool breeze kept the surface fast.

Wow!  I haven't been up there in 3 weeks, and I wouldn't have expected any skiing would be left.  I might have to return this weekend.  Thanks.
