Apparently we missed the memo and celebrated a little to early.
Scott, Spencer, Jacob and I met on a rainy friday night at the trailhead and drank whiskey in drizzly rain till way to late. I was just happy to be out there the night before a ski day after working all week.
Fortunately Chef McAlester, coffee, and a very wet overgrown trail cured our hangovers.
Overall it was a pleasant walk up to the top of the cleaver. I think we turned around at about 9,000 ft. It didn't look like the crevasses were easily passable from our viewpoint, and I did not want to hike out the trail in the darkness. It's summer or something right?
I really liked the fast rolling nature of the cleaver and skiing by raging meltwater and waterfalls while exiting out the canyon.
Pretty sick mellow summer day on a spectacular run.
A real treat for the middle of July!
