I climbed the east ridge and skied the NE face yesterday. Quite cloudy, but I was below the cloud ceiling most of the time. I got great route details from stoudema via PMs and his Splitboard Oregon site. The woods are pretty open to the snow, and I made good time partly b/c it was too buggy to stop! Compass was really handy. I carried until I was on enough snow not to become mosquito fodder, then skinned the final 1000' to the summit. The northeast face is a "gotta ski that!" feature visible from whole Diamond Lake area. I skipped the whited-out 50° rollover and grinned down 1500 v.f. of steep, sluff-y goodness. A rightwards traverse of the lower face, down a shallow gully, and a sweaty hike contouring right and down put me back surprisingly close to the car. Really fun peak to tick, Bailey is quite a skier's mountain.

Nice! How long are you down there? I'm considering skiing the South Sister on July 9th.
