Alpentalic
« on: 06/28/12, 09:45 AM »

As a long-time bearer of the Alpental sticker, I've always lusted after those Alpentalic stickers.  I heard they had no affiliation with the resort, but were produced by the Lot 3 crowd.  Anyone know how I can get my hands on one of these rare beauties and display my addiction to my "second home"?

I was thinking of producing some....I sell Snoqualmie Pass and Hyak stuff online.  I'll let you know if I get time to put something together.

Sweet.  I'd buy a few and spread the word.  Let me know if you make 'em!

I love Alpental so much that I'd never put a sticker on my car.  I've heard so many people in the last few years talk about how they never knew how great Alpental was and are glad they finally went.  If anything I'd put a Steven Pass sticker on my car.  If you love it, no stickers people!

This was true of the original, however the ones that I have are very similar to the area stickers and were being handed out for free ( a few years ago at Pro Ski in North Bend). I'm thinking that those were actually made by the area ( I could be wrong). At any rate, I may still have some. I'll look and hit you with a PM if that is the case.

To the best of my recollection. Todd Tompkins, The original person who coined the phrase Alpentalic tragically recently passed away when the plane he was piloting went down fighting a wildfire in Nevada/Utah borders. There was a fantastic memorial at Alpental's lodge for him. He had an honorguard funeral in Boise and Alpental with a procession of fire trucks and flag presentations. Quite the who-haw for a guy who lived in the back of his truck in lot 3 in the 80's before it became a way of life for many. Todd always had a knack for twisting words into double entendres. RIP to the origional Alpentalic Todd Tompkins!
