June 21, 2012, Sahale-ish, Quien Sabe glacier

Made it to around 8000ft on the Quien Sabe before turning around due to time and less than ideal conditions.
There is a good amount of extremely saturated new snow up high, maybe a foot, and ski conditions were pretty poor (much better down lower) and things were sliding. The new snow concealed the cracks a bit.
Took the Boston Basin trail up - terrible with skis as always - the slide alder has definitely "popped up". We returned via Sahale Arm and down through Cascade Pass. The Cascade Pass "headwall" is in great shape, it should last a few more weeks I think. Still plenty of snow to ski all the way to the hairpin turn on the road.
And... the road is now open all the way to the end! It opened while we were up there today, so unfortunately it did not help us :-(.

Thanks for the access update. Photos?
Hmm, I didn't take any pics of the snow coverage around Cascade Pass, or near the road, sorry.
Some pics:
Man that looks great. Might make a push that way wednesday. Thanks!
