Road is clear to 3700' just east of Windy pass now. Morning 1" crisp corn on west slope after bacon breakfast at the Subaru suites (Jeff's and mine.)

Great day to be up there.  It was my first visit to Silver Peak, and I went with Wook.  We were both on splitties, and made a hike up to the summit.  I got some decent footage, I think; will post later today or tomorrow.

Edit: here is the video: http://youtu.be/QmKFh83vNUU

I was up there in the evening. Several other parties about. Nice consistency corn. Still nice day but interesting clouds building west and south as sun set.
What I haven't seen mentioned in any of the Silver reports thus far is that the slopes down to Annette are already BAKED. 90% talus. Definitely no continuous way to get from ridge to anything more than few hundred feet long. Kind of odd because last year they lasted long enough to be really fun at the time the road was open and for a few days thereafter.
Instead rode down the E facing 'waterfall' bowl to the forest edge as my lap. A little sticky, main north bowl was better.
There were so many tracks down the TNT chute that it's practically "groomed" to white snow. But that was good, made it especially slidey and soft.

Wolfs, I was thinking the same thing.  Last year I remember more snow  on  the west side, but thinner snow on the main east facing bowl.  This year  just the opposite.
