Did skyline divide near glacier today. Able to drive to 3600 feet. Nice skin up road. Following trail tricky. Beautiful up on the ridge, though it took a while to break out of the trees at 5800 feet. Snow conditions superb. Zero ski penetration and nothing moving even on one very steep line I skied. Be careful on the descent not to drop off the ridge too soon, too far south. Better North of the trail where the terrain is more gradual. Evidence of one large Ursus on the road.
Nice. I thought about that area as well today, but chickened out (I was afraid of too much road skiing). Sounds like you got a nice combination for some nice skiing and great views. Good choice.
Nice pics. Those look like bear prints in the snow. Do we need to bring bear spray on our belts?
