My friend James and I headed up to Bandera Mountain to see what the turns looked like. The trail was completely dirt until we hit the ridge above the split in the trail to Mason lake. The entire north side of the ridge was still covered in several feet of snow. Up top it was rather stiff and grabby, but below was much smoother. There are still some fun turns to be had up there. It was my first time in that area and the fog made prospecting other turns a bit harder. We saw lots of people on the trail who looked bewildered about the skis and snowboard on our backs.
Thats great. Its incredible people would be so bewildered to see your equipment! What? They never saw someone ski outside of a ski resort?
