Pretty entertaining kinda of day, snowing pretty hard early morning, bigger lineup for the bucket than I’ve seen in a while – had to wait till 8:40 for the line to disperse enough for a less crowded bucket…but that was pretty much it for the day for crowds on lifts. Very nice early with the new 2 to 4 smooth untracked slopes on top. Big runs for us were Sunnyside and Breakover to REX chair line – untracked, smooth and soft, would have been a lot of folks happy way back in early March for a morning like today. Only negative was the slowly increasing fog layer on the upper mountain over towards PB’s. Though middle Doors, BP’s, OuterFerks all good once you got to them (wish we hat gotten to BP’s earlier). Did a few in the Valley over Grubstake way (center GV bowl never had any vis while we looked at it, might still be untracked early tomorrow morning). Valley seemed a little more firm/crusty where folks had skied – was more wind blowing up through there. Bumped into Mr Scotsman – nice to see him still having fun suffering lift served skiing. Beat the heck out of my quads today – dang BB for being so relentless all afternoon. Fun day – nothing new about that. Looking forward to some big hot sun tomorrow – hopefully. A lot looked sort of full, but getting empty when we left. The Endless Winter is still going strong.
Jill and I are thinking of touring at Crystal on Monday. Is the snow continuous to the bottom so that we don’t have to hike to get to it? If not, how long a walk to the snow?
Zap and Jill .... Pam and I took Chugach for a skin last night and you can put skins on near the lift shack for Quicksilver.... continuous snow from there. Have fun.
