June 6, 2012, Cayuse and Chinook passes

Drove to Chinook pass this mornning and bailed due to foggy conditions, back to Cayuse again. It was snowing lightly with an inch of compact fresh making a clean white blanket on the old mush. With low visibility we only did a few short runs but they were fun with the fresh snow on crunchy base. Weather began clearing so we returned to Chinook skinning on soaking wet day old 2" fresh snow. Some sluffs and pinwheels, but fun skiing on north aspect 25-30 degree slopes. Noticeable grabbiness below 5500'.
Good report. Sorry I had to bail on it just before reaching Chinook. :(
