Trying to find better weather, we headed for Mt. Hood last night. Just as forecast, the skies began clearing around 7pm. After a moonlit, starry night, we headed up Timberline ski area in breeze and fog. We stopped at Silcox hut for a coffee break and the fog cleared out for a couple hours. When it returned we skied down from 9000' on 1" butter followed by nearly untracked 2" corn on the pistes back to Timberline lodge. There was a brief sunny hour of gear drying, but the clouds cooled things again and we headed home.
