May 26, Tatoosh, MRNP

Skied the Tatoosh on Saturday - great coverage.  Found out the road had been opened already for a week though the website said Saturday was the opening.  Frozen snow in the basin from the previous night cool and clear weather softened up nicely under partly sunny weather.  Caught a few flurries at the pass where a group of mountaineers were practicing crevasse rescue. 

Saw a few tourers headed around the Castle so had the basin to ourselves.  Did several yo-yos before the dark clouds sent us back to the car for beer.  Timed it well as we packed up it started to rain - pretty heavy on the ride back thru the park.  Should be some fun skiing yet in June.
